  11. Since moving my office, I don't have the MUI info (FAQ) at my immediate 
  12. disposal.  My question is as follows:

  14. Is MUI switchable in the sense that it can be started and shut-down from 
  15. AmigaDOS/Workbench?
  16.  
  17. I ask this because I'm in (desperate) need of a web browser but not to 
  18. the point of interfering with existing applications running under 2.1 
  19. (A2000 and A3000) or 3.0 (A4000).  So far, AWeb seems like the best 
  20. (only) solution for my current requirements (until newer versions of 
  21. productivity software, e.g. ProPage, ADPro, T-Rexx, Scala, DPaint, SBase, 
  22. Studio16, etc., fully support 3.1 and/or MUI). [wishful thinking]

  24. However, since AT has apparently adopted MUI for their browser 
  25. package(s), I'd like to know how MUI is integrated into the system...

  27. 1. I understand that MUI requires 3.1 and that 3.1 requires a new ROM.  
  28.    Could I install the 3.1 ROM and merely ADD a new bootable partition 
  29.    for 3.1 and still revert back to 3.0 under the 3.1 ROM?

  31.    I need this capability as much of my productivity relies on applications 
  32.    which don't seem to run well under 3.1, according to reports read here.

  34. 2. Does MUI automatically boot with 3.1 or would I need a separate 
  35.    (bootable) partition to run 3.1 without any MUI "fingerprints"?

  37. 3. Does anyone know whether Gold Disk will resume Amiga development or is 
  38.    there a list of current/pending and never-to-be-seen-again developers?
